RetroClean Detailing uses a multi-layerable, clear, liquid nano-ceramic coating. When cured, this technology will transform itself on the surface to a permanent, durable yet flexible glass shield. Ceramic coating can be described as an additional clear coat but with 3 times the hardness and self-cleaning properties.

Ceramic is a Silica based product, meaning it is a “glass” coating. Ceramic adds some rock chip resistance, but it can still get rock chips from larger stones and high speeds. The glass windshield on your vehicle will still get rock chips, just much less often than your clearcoat.
No, ceramic will not prevent water spotting, but it WILL allow those pesky waterspots to be easily removed without damaging the surface. Because ceramic creates a protective layer over the substrate, it does not allow the minerals to corrode or etch the surface that ceramic is protecting, prolonging the life of your metals, paints, gelcoat, plastics, vinyls etc. ceramic is a silica based/glass product and the glass on your windshield can still get water spots, but it is much more resistant to water spots than your clearcoat.

The process of ceramic coating will take between 1-3 days depending on the condition of your paint, the size of the vehicle and the packages you select. The 1st step is to wash and prep the vehicle. The 2nd step is to correct all the imperfections in the paint such as swirls and scratches. Once the vehicle is properly prepped, a body shop safe prep solvent will be applied to the entire vehicle to get to bare paint. At this stage the coating process will begin, and each panel of the vehicle will have ceramic applied, leveled, and stacked to achieve the package you have selected.

Yes. To maintain your warranty, you need to attend an annual service. This is to ensure ceramic performs properly for the entire length of the warranty. If an annual inspection is missed, the warranty could be voided.
You should wait 14 days before the 1st wash to allow the solvents to outgas and fully cure. If you notice that your car gets water spots, bird droppings, tree sap etc. during these two weeks immediately remove it following our care instructions. Keep in mind the coating is softer during the 14 days so work on the paint very gently.
Give your beloved car a fresh start! Detail it with a new ceramic coating by the best of the best in town! But what exactly is a ceramic coat? A nano-ceramic coating system is an ultra-durable layer of glass covering every inch of your vehicle’s surface. This acts as a barrier between your paint and harmful elements on the road.
Think of it as a sacrificial layer on your car’s surface to safeguard the paint and clear coat underneath. If you live in an area where winter ice and snow are prominent, this protective layer will make those harsh chemicals easier to remove due to the coating’s hydrophobic properties. Moreover, it acts as an extra shield from environmental pollutants, tree sap, scratches from road salt, grime, dirt, industrial fallout dust, binding brake dust, and anything else that tries to ruin your car’s paint job. Overall, it helps your beloved ride stay cleaner longer!
The application process can be very tedious to do without help, that is why RetroClean Detailing is here to take care of that for you! RetroClean Detailing also knows that adequate preparation is critical for a long-lasting coating on top of having the right equipment. That is why before every application, we make sure to understand everything about your car.
The first step is to resolve the car’s paint. We spend a lot of time correcting a vehicle’s exterior before applying the ceramic coat. When needed, we perform paint correction and address any minor scratches, unwanted marks, and faded paint on the surface before applying. The vehicle’s surface must be perfect before applying the base coat as the imperfections will be very hard to correct after the application of the first layer.
For maintaining ceramic coatings we recommend you wash their car regularly utilizing a hand wash. Ceramic coatings on your vehicle require at least once a month maintenance for maximum protection and an enhanced gloss finish. We do not recommend you take your car through a tunnel car wash system as it will put swirl marks in the ceramic coating and ruin the paint job as well as integrity of the coating itself. We offer one free monthly maintenance cleaning for all of our customers who get a ceramic coating applied by RetroClean to get you started.
We recommend you to wash the car regularly for proper maintenance (we also provide exterior and interior maintenance detailing services!)
Annual Inspections must be carried out by a RetroClean Detailing Specialist, within 30 days before or after the anniversary date of the last service to maintain the warranty. Failure to undertake an annual inspection within the required period will void the warranty. A fee of $200 will be charged for the Annual Inspection, which includes – Exterior Wash, Decontamination, Application of Topcoat, and Inspection.
